Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing
What we can learn from Lewis about dealing with the issue of suffering in our apologetics today
Christianity Today Magazine described Dr. Amy Orr-Ewing as one of the most prominent Christian apologists at work in the UK today – an “Unapologetic Apologist” was how the article was titled, and that accolade might very well be extended beyond the UK to the world today. She graduated from Christ Church College, Oxford University with first-class honors in 1997 before going on to pursue a master’s degree at King’s College London, and eventually completing her Doctor of Philosophy degree at Oxford where her dissertation focused on the apologetics of Dorothy L. Sayers. She has been described as having a razor-sharp mind, but the unique ability to present her arguments with both compassion as well as coherence. She has delivered public lectures all over the world at colleges and universities and she has addressed members of the United States Congress, the White House staff, the Australian Parliament, and the student body and faculty of the United States Naval Academy. She is the author of multiple books including Where is God in all the Suffering? and the bestselling, Why Trust the Bible?
