Dr. Peter Kreeft
C.S. Lewis as Prophet
Dr. Peter Kreeft has been described as a present-day C.S. Lewis. A highly sought-after speaker and author, he is recognized as one of America’s premier Christian philosophers and apologists. A native of Paterson, New Jersey, he graduated from Calvin College in 1959, before pursuing graduate studies at Fordham University, where he completed his doctoral dissertation in 1965 under W. Norris Clarke. That year he joined the faculty of the Department of Philosophy at Boston College where he has served as a distinguished professor for the past 58 years! He may be the most prolific writer we have at this conference – having authored over 100 books on everything from Thomas Aquinas to Surfing! But it’s not the sheer volume, but the readability of his works that have made him the most accessible of philosophers. Scholars and laymen alike have profited from his works, and he has proven to be an able apostle to the skeptics. Among his many works, he has written extensively on C.S. Lewis including C.S. Lewis for the Third Millennium, C.S. Lewis: A Critical Essay, and Between Heaven and Hell; A Dialogue Somewhere Beyond Death with John F. Kennedy, C.S. Lewis & Aldous Huxley. Though he is one of the ablest defenders of what Lewis called Mere Christianity at work in the world today, he describes himself rather simply as a man who loves his five grandchildren, four children, one wife, one cat, and one God!”
